TESTIMONIES

SBS Outreach Team (YWAM MUIZEMBERG)

We've spent the last 10 months studying the Bible in YWAM Muizenberg. We've read so much about God's history and journey with humanity and got to dig into the depth of his heart.

Being in East London for outreach made the heart of God and his faithfulness come more to life. We got to see the leaders and staff of this base serving with their whole hearts and lives because they trust in the goodness of God.

We worked with various existing ministries in different areas of the city. (YWAM partners with many ministries and supports the hard-working and passionate volunteers and missionaries, which brings a lot of unity within the churches and the body of Christ). We got to see that the people of East London are aware of their need for God, they are seeking. And they have a great need for people guiding them the way in truth to the Father. It was such a big privilege to see their hunger for God. And to see God responding.

But not only did we see God moving in the hospitals, townships, churches, soup kitchens, schools, etc. but also in the hearts of our hosts. They are living testimonies of the grace of God, are kind, loving and so much fun! They taught us to have more faith, to dream bigger and put our hope in a God who is trustworthy and can move mountains. We hope to come back one day.

God loves East London and the people here so much and he is moving in undeniable ways to draw his children back to him.

Kelvin Mupfumisi (ZIMBABWE)

Hi. My name is Kelvin Mupfumisi from Zimbabwe. I came to East london first time during my Dts outreach in 2017. Khaya and Grace had just moved to this beautiful city to pioneer a base. There was so much work to be done. I was touched by the determination and obedience of this couple to what God had called them. They even managed to bring Loren Cunningham for a conference in that same year!!

Two years later (2019) i was back in East london, this time co-leading a Dts outreach team. To see the progress that these guys had made in just two years was nothing less of amazing. Now there is a "proper" ywam base fully functional and amazing staff working with them. They have made unbelievable connections with the local community. In the two and a half weeks that we were there we worked with high schools, churches, university students, street and door to door evangelism, hospitals, street kids, feeding the homeless and had an interview on the local radio.

The response was mindblowing. There is such a great need for what Ywam brings in this city. We were receiving more and more invites to share the gospel. The fields are truly ready in East london, labourers are desperately needed. I cant wait for another opportunity to go back there!!!
